• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

PHP upgrade

I am currently running PHP 4.3.2. I believe there may be some problems with the built-in XML parsing in this version because I have a script that works fine in both an older and newer version of PHP, but not 4.3.2.

I thought a simple fix would be to upgrade the PHP, but my web host told me that this can cause Plesk to crash.

Will I have Plesk problems if I upgrade?

The php used by the plesk control panel is seperate from the php used for your websites. This seperation should allow you to upgrade without causing a problem for plesk. I'm currently running php 4.4.1 (from ART's yum) without problems (there are potential problems with this version and some 3rd party apps such as older versions of phpadsnew).
