Piped Logs with Apache 2

We got a lot of domains on one of the servers and so we tried to enabled piped logs for the webserver. See http://kb.odin.com/en/2066

But nothing changed. The line is added in the database table "misc". But the logs are the same as before. Even if after I ran "websrvmng -v -a". Shouldn't there be in a change in zz010_psa_httpd.conf or in conf/httpd.include? I restarted the webserver but "lsof" still tells me that Apache2 has tons of open statistics files access_log.
