• The APS Catalog has been deprecated and removed from all Plesk Obsidian versions.
Applications already installed from the APS Catalog will continue working. However, Plesk will no longer provide support for APS applications.

Plesk 9.5.2 > 10.0.1: licence management: error 500

Hi,

there seems to be a problem during an upgrade from Plesk 9.5.2 to 10.0.1.
Most of it works, but if I want to access the licence-management, there is a 500 internal server error.
I checked the logfiles and received:

DEBUGGER DETECTED... Bye!
2010-11-17 17:33:30: (mod_fastcgi.c.2476) unexpected end-of-file (perhaps the fastcgi process died): pid: 6059 socket: unix:/opt/psa/tmp/sw-engine.sock-0
2010-11-17 17:33:30: (mod_fastcgi.c.3259) response not received, request sent: 1059 on socket: unix:/opt/psa/tmp/sw-engine.sock-0 for /plesk.php , closing connection
DEBUGGER DETECTED... Bye!

Also, there is another information:

[ 1906.504895] ptrace of non-child pid 6198 was attempted by: sw-engine-cgi (pid 6206)

This means it seems a problem with the fastcgi - engine loosing a connection to the pid.

:(

The system (Debian 5.0, 64bit) is up2date.

Thanks for any help.

Igor, we do not use VPS :( It is a real box, with Hexacore CPU and 24 GB of memory ;-).
Nethertheless, you spoke ´bout "There is special VPS Optimized Mode for Plesk 10.x "
How could it be activated? Thanks.

Igor, Thanks.
But I do not think that it depends at the resources ;-), really.
It is a Intel Hexacore CPU with HT (12 cores all in one) and 24 GB of memory.
Box has no hardware failures (already checked it), memory usage is around 7 GB of memory.
I already tried the latest kernels (2.6.35, 2.6.37), but no success. The ptrace gets lost while entering the licence-panel and then, server is sending error 500 again and again :(

Thanks
Ronny

I can't say what is wrong there. Detailed investigation directly on your server is required. Therefore I suggest you contact Support Team. Experienced support guys will found a reason.

thank you.

After many hours, I found what the problem is:
Normally, Debian 5.0 64bit runs with 2.6.26 kernel, current is 2.6.26-2-amd64. While booting this kernel, all works fine.
If you use .deb package with 2.6.35-22 or 2.6.37-5 or even try to manually setup a kernel > 2.6.29, this strange ptrace lost appears. So I just can imagine that something has changed within the kernel which occurs this strange bug. Maybe Parallels may have a try to reproduce it in your labs?

Thank you,
Ronny

Igor: Thanks for helping. Please; may you have any suggestion for this bug? http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=106081
