• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

plesk and bad spamassassin user_prefs

hey all,
it's been almost a week that i've had my first experience with plesk. i just signed up for a virtual dedicated server at mediatemple and its been a crash course in plesk, linux, installs, and the like so forgive my newbie-ness.

i finally got spamassassin upgraded to 3.0.1, installed razor2, pyzor, dcc and rules du jour and finally have almost all my spam (about 100 messages a day) caught! today was the first day with it all running and it worked great except for one issue:

it seems that when a user updates their spam config through plesk (like adding an address to the whitelist) the user_prefs that get written include some spamassassin 2.x style config and that seems to be choking sa. i suddenly start getting spam again until i ssh in and clean those older settings out of the file.

does this sound familiar to anyone? and is there any way around it? my users will want to be able to add emails to their white and blacklists and train emails so it would be great if i could get this to work.

i have plesk 7.5.4 on rhel 3as

thanks in advance!

P.S. thanks to this site for all the amazing help, i could not have done the setup without these great forums.
