• Debian 11 has reached its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.81 is the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Plesk and qmail with procmail

davorg

Basic Pleskian
I have a standard (I suppose) web server that I rent from 1and1.co.uk. They install Plesk 7.5.3 and qmail.

Currently, I'm letting qmail deliver mail into /var/qmail/mailnames/dave.org.uk/dave/Maildir and then every few minutes I run fetchmail which pulls the email into maildir files in ~dave. The reason I do this is because I want to run procmail to filter the mail into different directories.

I then log into the server and read my email using mutt.

But now I'm thinking that I should get qmail to deliver the mail to procmail so that procmail can filter the email into various mailboxes under /var/qmail/mailnames/dave.org.uk/dave. I'll then be able to access my filtered email using anything that supports IMAP.

Has anyone tried this before? How did you get it to work?

Any advice or recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave...
