Plesk and Wordpress

UweP

Regular Pleskian
Hi, I have several websites/domains running Wordpress on a standard plesk installation. Now, sometimes when i upgrade plugins, it gives me a internal server error, timeout of fcgi script, if i then press f5 it mostly works. I wonder if i've setup anything wrongly? or is there anything known todo against this problem or to increase performance?

Example:

[Mon Sep 28 18:22:40 2015] [warn] [client clientip] mod_fcgid: read data timeout in 45 seconds, referer: http://www.mydomain.tld/wp-admin/up...ugin&plugin=eu-cookie-law&_wpnonce=570fa90126

Thank you a lot!

Uwe

Hi UweP,

the standard setting in your "fcgid.conf" is rather low, depending to your server configuration and/or hosted domains. If you use plugins for wordpress, you should be informed, that they are sometimes coded below average, or depend on outsourced files, hosted over external servers. You should consider to raise the "FcgidIOTimeout" to "120" or even higher.

Please have a look at:

... and follow the suggestions. If you still experience such issues, consider to raise again the timeout - restrictions ( a maximum of 180 seconds should be sufficient for all external servers and/or bad coded plugins ). Try out other related plugins from different developers as well, if the issue(s) continue.
