JogoVogo

Plesk Obsidian v18.0.72_build1800250915.05 os_Debian 12.0

Hello everyone!

We have a very strange phenomenon here, and I'm not sure if it's related to an update. The system has been operating at the same time for two to three weeks, which is around 16:30 for 1 to 1,5 hours. It takes about five minutes for the page to load after logging in.

It affects the entire system, including imap, smtp, and usw.

After an hour, everything is back to normal.

Does anyone have an idea?

Top or ps aux only produce typical results.
Increased traffic cannot be detected either.

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers, Ron

Hi Ron,

a few things you can check when the server slows down every day at about the same time:
  1. Scheduled cron jobs
See if any automatic tasks are set to run between 16:30–18:00, such as backups, log rotation or other maintenance scripts. These can tie up CPU or disk and slow down all services.
  2. Plesk backups or scheduled tasks
Plesk can run daily backups, updates or statistics recalculations. Check the Backup Manager and the Scheduled Tasks section in Plesk to see if something is triggered at that time.
  3. Host-level processes or other users
If this is a managed or shared server, your provider may run backups, malware scans or snapshots in that time window. It’s worth asking them if any routine jobs could cause delays. Also other users on the shared hosting could use up a lot of resources.
The first one is the most logical thing I guess.

Cheers and good luck,
Tim
