Plesk key update problem

I Had to do a repair install of Windows Server 2003 and now Plesk does not want to update the License key. When I click retrieve keys in License management I get the following error:
"Incorrect product version format"

am not sure if this is similra to what we had.

we were actually applying 8.x license to new plesk 9.x installation however the error message was quite elaborative and we could easily find out the real cause.
