  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Popup message from WP-Toolkit hangs, no X, restart without change

W4ru

Basic Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian 18.0.66 Update 2
Plesk “crashed” when Wordpress updates were triggered from the WP Toolkit - in any case, Plesk only ran again after I had executed “service psa restart” via SSH. The cause is completely unclear, as I had a normal scenario and there was no server load in the background. There were also no significant peaks in the monitoring.

The problem:
Since then I have two popups that neither disappear by logging out of Plesk, nor by restarting the server.
I am now at a loss as to what I can do.

Thank you so much @Raul A.!
I did think of hanging task but didn't remember the menu item in Plesk. You saved the day :)

The tasks causing the two messages could be terminated. But there are 40 more in the list that cannot be terminated. Well, it's more of a cosmetic nature, but it's not “standard” either?
Many are also from yesterday's toolkit. But others result, for example, from deleting sub-domains or “converting” hosting to no-hosting (mail-only domain). This is visually completed in Plesk. But the hanging tasks are a bit more worrying... because other processes may not have been terminated properly?

Anyway: The Plesk repair does not return any errors and otherwise the system is smooth.

I'm glad to hear the task is no longer displayed.

Usually, a failed task is not a big issue.

The failed tasks are not running processes. You can run the failed task again and it might complete successfully. However, the dropdown will provide additional details regarding the failed task.
