• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Port conflicts with plesk

Hi,

After setting up a domain and dns in plesk, i couldn't resolve the domain name in a browser, and eventually found out that it was because my Fedora OS was blocking port 53 by default.

After updating the iptables file to open up port 53, the plesk server running on port 8443 no longer responds (the browser says 'connected', but it just hangs there).

In addition to this, i can no longer ssh via putty to the server as whilst it lets me enter a username, it hangs after i put in a password.

Can anyone please advise me what the problem may be, and what the appropriate port filtering settings in the iptables file should be?

thanks!
