  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Possible to specify RNDC port for Slave DNS extension?

raytracy

Basic Pleskian
CentOS 7.3+Onyx 17.5.3#MU16

Does that possible to specify RNDC port for Slave DNS extension?

Slave DNS extension using default tcp port 953 to control remote slave dns server, Unfortunately, my remote slave dns running customized control port which not bind to default 953.

I have settled down networking and have engaged to remote dns manually with specified -p <port> in rndc command to retrieve status or reload the remote dns server without problem.

But the slave dns extension always show me a red alert in front of remote dns IP, and resync button cannot force it to engage xfer command to remote server. (I have monitored tcpdump in remote server, and got nothing)

It seems the extension alway bind to port 953 when it fire a resync job.

I don't know where I can modify the port number in slave dns extension? or somewhere I can tweak it?

I found it.

The customized port can only be specified when new slave added to manager. It cannot be modified since added.
The solution is: remove exist slave server and create new one.
