• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

problems after switch MTA (qmail to postfix)

New Pleskian
Where it used to be all fine and dandy, now I see a lot of these in the maillog:

plesk courier-authdaemon: authpsa: short mail addresses are not allowed, got 'xx'

and these:

plesk courier-imaps: authentication error: Input/output error

there was/is a user logging in with [email protected], but this is what it shows now. These were NOT in the maillog before the switch.

Then there's the fact that apparently some users can't send mail after the switch. I have no idea what causes this. Probably certificates that have not been moved by your wonderful (NOT) script. I ran:
# /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --select-release-current --install-component postfix
last night in order to get rid of qmail and finally be able to use postfix (which i.m.o. is much better in many ways. Config is easier too..)

Next one to go is courier. I mean, dovecot anyone? Courier seems a total mess. Especially when you start to analyze log files. Which deamon does what exactly?

Any input on the log-entries is welcomed!
