Problems with internal subdomain redirect

Now i'm developing a new version of a portal.
For testing, y have a subdomain in main enterprise domain:

portal-name.maindomain.com

Then, y configured in plesk new domain "portal-name.com".
I need to redirect portal-name.domain.com to portal-name.com but internally, then:

From:
/var/www/vhosts/maindomain.com/subdomains/portal-name/httpdocs

To:
/var/www/vhosts/portal-name.com/httpdocs

For the moment, portal-name.com is working in other server and external redirect is not a valid solution.

For doing this, i redefined DocumentRoot in
/var/www/vhosts/maindomain.com/subdomains/portal-name/conf/vhost.conf

Redirects works ok, but don't process PHP Code and show it!!! (creating an Apache Alias have the same behaviour)

Thank you!

DocumentRoot & PHP

Any solutions the original thread?

Mine is similar. I have 50-60 sites, that use Smarty, so i have consolidated all of them into a single directory structure under one domain name.

Example:

PHP:
/var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/clients/100/httpdocs
/var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/clients/101/httpdocs
/var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/clients/102/httpdocs

When you goto the corresponding URLs above, everything works fine! (domain.com/clients/###/httpdocs/)

For each of the client domain names pointing, I've created the vhost.conf, and added the...

PHP:
DocumentRoot /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/clients/100/httpdocs

Regular HTML, images, etc... all fine. PHP wont execute. It just shows up as regular text in the source code.

Any ideas? :(

php smarty

We've got a similar issue with php and smarty in a sub-domain. It appears to be permissions related - if you set smart and templates to 777 it works, but obviously this is not a solution. Would love ideas on this. Smarty works fine on the main domain.
