• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

mainly-ftp server being built.

anyone know how to break relationship between proftpd and (x)inetd?

(proftpd -D)

wait... so plesk doesn't overwrite the proftpd.conf file???

I don't recall anyone ever posting about that particular conf file being overwritten, but it's always good to have backups of all the possible conf files on server in any case.

And good to have a complete verified backup of any server before any type of upgrade/update, no matter how small it may seem beforehand...

Random chance will always find a way to bite one in the ***...

(Edit: Yes, Plesk *may* overwrite the file during an upgrade since they do re-package it with some mods in the conf file, such as specifying psacln as the default group ownership, and log file entries....) However, it looks like they may not touch the proftpd.include file...

well then! i already had my answer (but thanks for taking the time to give a proper answer).

forgive me for asking a noob question :D
