  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Protected Directory Question(s)

Hello Everyone,

I am using Plesk 8.4 for Windows and have a two part question:

1. I need to create www.domain.com/directory with /directory being password protected. I know how to do this, but in the “Realm Access Text†section of preferences where you can type text, in this case I used “Please Login†Plesk automatically added “Welcome to†so it displays as “Welcome To Please Login†How do we omit the “Welcome To†part?

2. The second part of this question relates to showing the contents of the protected directory once the user has logged in. On Unix systems you addâ€Options +Indexes†(without the quotes) to accomplish this in the .htaccess file but it does not seem to work for windows.

If anyone has the answers to these questions, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Randy

1. No idea but I would be interested to know.

2. This is a built-in IIS function, so you just have to set the website to allow directory browsing, which is done on the IIS mmc.

.htaccess doesn't exist in IIS.
