PSA fails to start after fresh install

Just did a clean install on a RH9 box. Everything looks okay during install but psa won't start. Here is the error message:

/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/httpsdctl start: httpd could not be started
Starting Plesk: [FAILED]

Any ideas where the problem might be?

look in httpd log and see why it can't be started ...
