  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

PSA keeps filling up partition

PSA keeps filling up /var/lib/psa/dumps/tmp with large files:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 121176064 Aug 18 07:54 file1QhrE5
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 132534272 Aug 18 07:54 filep2U7gl
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 987627520 Aug 18 07:54 filevI6DAY
[root@u15197437 tmp]# rm file*
rm: remove regular file `file1QhrE5'? y
rm: remove regular file `filep2U7gl'? y
rm: remove regular file `filevI6DAY'? y

I have to keep deleting them because I can no longer receive email on the server when this partition fills up. I started deleting them after 1and1.com technical support told me they were safe to delete. But, they keep coming back.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

agent-runner running all the time

Since my somewhat botched upgrade to 8.2, I've seen agent-runner running all the time. In addition to filling up the fairly inadequate 5GB /var partition, it's also keeping the load higher than I'd like it on the server, and slowing down everything else.

I've set all my backups to backup overnight, and they're all backing up to an ftp server, but agent-runner and tar are chewing up the cpu all the time.

Anyone have any input on what it's doing, and if it really needs to be doing it? My sites are pretty small, and shouldn't take more than an hour to back up at most.

I resolved this issue by turning off all backup on all my sites. I had them set to backup to FTP, but after publishing to the FTP site, Plesk doesn't remove the old file. There is't enough room on that partition to keep things around long and this is the same partition used by qmail.

Now I have to manually backup the sites, which is a royal pain.

You might want to re-partition the system, thats a pretty high maintenance configuration. The optimal configuration is:

/boot 256M or anything that falls in the first 1024 cylinders
swap x2 your total ram (you want this as partition 2, as close to the front of the disk for speed)
/ <- everything else

PSA keeps filling up /var/lib/psa/dumps/tmp directory

Hai,

Can someone help me with making some space on /var/lib/psa/dumps/tmp directory. This directory is getting filled up with some big files mainly in GB's.

# ls -lh file*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 56G 2008-11-18 09:38 fileM1M9hA

From where are these files generated. Does these files are safe to be deleted? I need these files to de deleted automatically.

If this directory is unchecked for 3-4 days... the 3 or 4 files with 40Gb or 50Gb will fill up the /var/lib/psa/dumps partition.

I have configured a scheduled domain backup on the server? It is taken to /var/lib/psa/dumps/1/1

Will upgrading to a newer Plesk will help?

Also.... a small doubt regarding Plesk Scheduled Domain Backup in Backup Manger.

There is a parameter box under the TASKS.

as

Backup time __ hh : __ mm

What is it? "Time interval" or "Time of day" ?

Thanking you,

Anish Asokan
