• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

psacln group and permissions

I'm hoping one of you *nix gurus will stumble across this and share some of your wisdom.

I'm setting up a custom billing/crm app. This app will need rwx access to a directory. In order to make it as secure as possible (and maybe easier to track it's activity in logs) I was thinking of creating a user within the psacln group. I'm not sure if that would be the best approach, another option I read about would be to make a new group for this app and make sure it is a member of the web group (psacln). I'm not exactly sure how I would do that... just add the app group name to the list of users for psacln?

I'm assuming the web access group is psacln... if I'm wrong please correct me.

I would appreciate hearing what the best approach may be. I know there's always more than one way of doing something... but if there's a standard or best practice I'd love to know. Resources (links or book titles) are also welcome.

Thanks
