Qmail, closed relay and localhost

A pint of (virtual) beer and my eternal gratitude to the first one to answer the following, perhaps dumb, question:

Plesk 8.1 with qmail - will setting 'Relaying' to 'closed' in 'Server->Server-wide mail preferences' affect the sending of mail from localhost to other hosts (i.e. mail sending scripts like FormMail or Horde)?

I'm googling all over the web with this, and thus far have found contradicting answers.

Reply to self: I tried on a production server and so far the answer is "no". Horde seems to be working. Haven't had any reports of non-working other scripts yet. I guess with the mask "127.0.0.0 / 8" under the tab 'White List' this was to be expected.
