  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

qmail configuration problem

Hi,
I'm having some problems with qmail: it does not seem to be able to send emails to my university, but I do not see any meaninful error message in the log.

I tried to send emails in 3 different ways: by telneting to the university's email server (works), by using plesk's qmail without configuration changes, by using plesk's qmail and forcing the route in smtproutes.

1) If I telnet to port 25 on my university's email server from my own server, it works

2) if I try to use qmail, it doesn't work:

2) If I try to use smtproutes forcing qmail to use the very email server to which I'm telneting successfully, it doesn't work:

Both log entries are identical, actually.

Any ideas on why the messages are not delivered? As I can send messages through telnet, I would think there's a problem in qmail's configuration.

Thanks in advance,

Andres
