• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue Qmail just stops

greg2017

New Pleskian
Hi there
I am runing Debian 7.11‬ / Plesk Onyx Version 17.5.3 Update #15 on two servers.
On one server Qmail just stops about once a week.
After the update #15 I restarted the server yesterday, this morning Qmail was down.
Anyone a idea? The last problems of Qmail I found were from 2007.

Thanks for your help, Greg

Could you please be more specific? Any error messages in logs, result of throubleshooting? If I'm not mistaken you can't start Qmail service now or what?

I just started Qmail and all is working.
As I am not so experienced, I do not know how to access the logs.
(normaly my linux specialis is doing this)
If you tell me how, I check the logs.
Thanks!

First of all, try to find related error messages in /var/log/maillog

The only thing we found is
Jul 26 14:08:01 root746 spamc[5325]: connect to spamd on 127.0.0.1 failed, retrying (#1 of 3): Connection refused
Jul 26 14:08:02 root746 spamc[5325]: connect to spamd on 127.0.0.1 failed, retrying (#2 of 3): Connection refused
Jul 26 14:08:03 root746 spamc[5325]: connect to spamd on 127.0.0.1 failed, retrying (#3 of 3): Connection refused

Thanks, Igor. I understand, but spamassasin als should run all the time. I did not set it off.
I will monitor this.
