  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

qmail-tap not installing...

Hello,

I am trying to recompile qmail to use qmail tap on PLESK 8.6 with CentOS 5.2. I need mail archiving facilities.

I've had various problems with the tutorial supplied by parallels on http://kb.odin.com/en/1161, the qmail-1.03 source files patched with PLESK's recommeded patches won't compile (the original qmail-1.03 source unpatched doesn't even compile!).

I am managing to compile the latest version of qmail downloaded from qmail.org, which is netqmail-1.06 (essentially a patched version of 1.03 I think). I don't follow the tutorial or apply the plesk patches, but if I run "make" and copy the 3 files over as described in step 5 of the tutorial the mail server still works.

However, if I try to patch netqmail-1.06 with qmail-tap, compile and copy as before, the mail server stops working.... it seems to receive emails according to the logs but doesn't do anything with them from the looks of it.

Any help please? Thanks in advance....

We're using ART's qmail-scanner package on Plesk for SpamAssassin and ClamAV integration and qmail-scanner also has an archive option. No need to recompile qmail in that case.

Yes, I think I'm at the point of giving up on qmail-tap and switching to that option.

I've been trying this for almost two days though, so if anyone has any suggestions just to put me out of my misery that would be appreciated :)
