Ram with Tomcat Java

When i activate Tomcat Java , Memory Ram passes from 300 MB ( More or less ) to 1 GB ( More or less )

It is normal ?

Java uses a lot of memory, its not exactly the most efficient environment in the world. You'll definitely need to increase the ram on the box.
