  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

Red Hat upgrades

I just loaded Red Hat ES 4.0 on a new server, and loaded plesk with the auto loader. I wanted to ask out there if any one can tell me if it is safe to reg. my server with Red Hat and do the upgrades. The reason I ask is I tried to load a server loaded with Red Hat ES 4.2 and the auto installer, and things did not go well. If I do remember I know MY SQL was a big problem. also is there a scripts or command to fix bind problems, I do remember that Cpanel at one time has such a script. I know this is alot to to ask, !
Thanks

I've always used ARTs (atomicrocketturtle.com) yum repo for all updates, even the OS [base] and updates, and of course, Plesk. Last I heard he was getting his 4ES repository ready, not sure if he finished yet. You may want to visit his site to see.

Edit: just checked, looks like he posted around Sept 20 that he was going to, and it looks like he has some of it done, but there are still some empty directories, so he may not be finished yet.
