  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Security Certificate Error when going to Plesk Control Panel

EnriqueR

Regular Pleskian
When ever I go to the Plesk Login page, I get an error message page stating There is a problem with this website's security certificate. Why is this and can it be corrected?

This problem starter when I updated from 9.5.4 to 10.1.1.
I have tested the page in Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome and the same error appears.

When you view the certificate, can you confirm it is plesk default SSL or is it the correct SSL of yours?

The certificate is a plesk default SSL. When I enter with the navitator says 'The certificate is not trusted', but recognizes that is of Plesk.

I found for your query and i came across with this:

"The use of the https is there to encrypt your username and password as it travels over the internet.

The certificate that its complaining about is because the certificate is not in your domain name. To fix it would be to get your own SSL. But really nothing's broken and for just a log in reason, its not cost effective to guy just not to get an error screen.

If you just tell it continue, the goal of encryption is met and that is the most important part."

It May help you..

EV SSL Certificate | Comodo SSL Certificates

Enrique, this is not an "error" so to speak, merely a precaution that the certificate being used is not "authorized" by an authority such as Thawte, VeriSign, GeoTrust etc.

It's not alarming especially when you yourself are trying to access the panel, which doesn't really need an authorized certificate. I have rarely seen a secure trusted certificated connection to a control panel.

But once you permanently store and accept the default certificate in your browser, it won't appear again.

I have been speaking with Arsys and they say that the certificate actually opperate under Plesk 9. With Plesk 10 the certificate is not ready. They say I have to enter into the system and change the SSL params and so the certificate will not submit an error with the Control Panel Plesk 10.

Anyone can help me with the steps??
