server won't start again

We updated to Plesk 8.
first the base pakages.
this went normal, we got an email that the server was updated.
after this we runned the auto update from the controlpanel.

when updating our system locked out.
restarted and now he is working for a few minutes and stops working

When i try to log in with putty i can sometimes log in but most times i can't do a thing

We use fedora core 2

Can someone help???

If you cannot login via SSH, have you tried rebooting the server?

We've got the server up and running, only the mail and plesk are still down.

Any suggestions how to get those up?
