Hello,
since yesterday, at my V-Server at Strato the file var/log/syslog increases itself to 416 GB at the moment a warning from plesk comes.

2 days before i had increased the virtual harddisc at strato from 1.2 TB to 1.5 TB - all hat run fine - but since yesterday i noticed, that the server fill it self full with this file.

Could anyone help me to stop this - and what the reason is?

First, you need to determine the cause of this and then eliminate it. For this, it would be good to know what kind of messages the log file is filled with?

No. System log file /var/log/syslog can be viewed from the console of your server.

ok - what command do i have to use to view this? I'm logged in with putty
