Setting up Staging Subdomain

Hello,

I am currently working on setting up a subdomain for a staging website for our dev team to work on without affecting the production website. I have followed the instructions found HERE, but cannot seem to get the site up and running.

I have successfully created a subdomain, made a copy of the website files and made a copy of the database. I am now stuck on where to connect this subdomain with the database as well as which scripts that will have to be edited to get it working.

Also, will the WordPress setup for the subdomain be an issue? I haven't even gotten to that point yet.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
