Setup IP-Only Hosting?

J

I need to set up a site that will not have a domain name (will only be accessed by IP address).

I've setup the hosting under that IP, but still get the default Plesk page:

This is the Pleskâ„¢ default page
If you see this page it means:

1) hosting for this domain is not configured
or
2) there's no such domain registered in Plesk.

Is there a way to setup hosting without using a domain name?

If you wish to do it via the control panel, then you will have to give it some domain name (even a fake one).
[Edit: Does not have to be an exclusive IP]
First make sure that the IP is set as 'Exclusive' under Server | IP addresses.

Once it is an exclusive IP, and you create the domain (physical hosting), then you will still need to upload your files (such as index.html or index.php)
to the httpdocs folder.

Then you should be able to point your browser to the http:// <ip address> and your site should come up.

Sorry, jamesyeeoc, but you are wrong. To create IP only virtual host you can use any type of IP (exclusive or shared). But you have to setup your domain as default domain for IP address.

Ah, yes, that's true. I had forgotten about that.

Thanks for the correction/update defencer!

I'm getting too old for this, the mind has left on permanent holiday...
