• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Should I refrain from 8.4 > 8.6?

Now before making the jump, I like to wander through the 'Troubleshooting forum' to get a head start on issues, but with quite a few fundamental problems arising on this release I'm pondering whether to stay at 8.4.

Looking at the new features I can't justify going to 8.6 either, however I have the opportunity to make a fresh install of 8.6 and so wonder if that's any better in terms of possible encountered issues.

We only integrate with SmarterMail 4.3 (latest version) and SmarterStats 3.x.

Any thoughts guys?

Oh, BTW - what happened to 8.5?

Many thanks
Lea

Considering all of the horror stories and the lack of plesk support I'd refrain from upgrading. It seems like plesk QA's very little and shoves down upgrades in order to get people to pay for support.

Just pray to god before the upgrade. For me it was a nightmare (3 servers - 3 nightmares)
