  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Slow upload ftp in plesk 11.5

Webroy

Regular Pleskian
I have have Centos 6 with plesk 11.5 (updated today to the latest version).

When i connect through ftp ( filezilla, proftp , cyberduck) the upload takes to lang , lots of time outs and a lot of failed transfers.

In ps -aux i see a lot of:

SLs 11:12 0:00 proftpd: banner - source ip: STOR

in the logs i see:

Jan 8 11:23:48 server proftpd[10045]: - FTP session opened.
Jan 8 11:23:48 server proftpd[10045]: - Preparing to chroot to directory '/home/httpd/vhosts/domainname.com'
Jan 8 11:23:58 server xinetd[6363]: START: ftp pid=10061 from=::
Jan 8 11:23:58 server proftpd[10061]: - FTP session opened.
Jan 8 11:23:58 server proftpd[10061]: - Preparing to chroot to directory '/home/httpd/vhosts/domainname.com'

So it looks like he keeps on reconnecting.

Reverse dns is checked and oke.

In the /etc/proftp.conf is":

IdentLookups off
UseReverseDNS off

Any ideas why ftp is so slow?

I'm having this same problem. It seems to be worse when I FPT to the server as a vhost user rather than root. If I login as root, it seems much quicker. Have you noticed this as well?
