  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

SpamAssassin slow - high CPU load

Good day,

I am on Plesk 9.5 and not getting joy from the optimization steps posted by atomicturtle in thread http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=50062

When I am running SA, my mail server goes extremely slow to the levels of smtp and pop3 ports timing out on users. The CPU load will be above 12. The moment I disabled SA, the CPU load drops to around 2 and the server is very responsive.

The problem is the spam is too much without SA running and my clients off course notices and complain about it.

- How can I optimize SA, or is it just purely a hardware resource issue?
- I am thinking of running spam filter on separate server, any advice and recommendations?

Below is an indication of the slowness SA is scanning the messages, with values up to 50sec common.

Code:
