Issue spamd (spamassassin) not reading /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf

tristans

Basic Pleskian
spamd (spamassassin) is not reading my /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf

i spent hours on this issue, and so for, found no solutions.

I am on 17.8.11 Update #36, On CentOS 7

Also, I found no way to add the -D (debug) option to spamd when it is launched by plesk, which could possibly offer more clues as to why this file is not read.

SpamAssassin includes all *.cf files in the directories /etc/mail/spamassassin/ and /usr/share/spamassassin/. What makes you think the local.cf file is not read?

Did you restart the service after configuration changes?

If you want to add configuration entries, it may be best to create an additional .cf file instead of modifying local.cf, because local.cf is maintained by Plesk. Its content can be easily overwritten if a configuration change is done in the GUI. An additional .cf file will not be overwritten and still be applied to SpamAssassin.
