• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Question SPF fail due to wrong IP?

fabianbohr

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Debian
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.56 Update 4
I have my own V Server with Plesk and added a SPF1 to the DNS entry which allows only the static IP of my Server.

But then I try to send mails the recipient (Google) tells me the E-Mail was sent from another IP. I've sent my mail with Thunderbird, but it is not the IP of the device I've sent my mails from. How can that be?

I didnt change any config files on the server or Plesk and use Postfix and Dovecot.

What IP does google report, then? Does it belong to your vserver provider?
Does your provider force smtp connections through a proxy?
