start-clamd.bat - ClamAV

hi i have just integrated

clamAV with PLESK 7.5.2 windows
i have realised that clamd is not working , so i have started slamd with start-clamd.bat.

is it needed to start clamd or what?

any suggestion will be great

it is very weird since clamd.log has no virus detection entries since 1 hour...

how does clamAV works in Wndows different than linux?

i have also noticed that freshclam.log is also not updated ? there is a scheduled task entry present in plesk however it does not works...

how you guys get clamAV work with PLESK

i just cant believe that no one uses ClamAV... or having such an issue

OK plesk detects clamAV but it does not works, clamd.log is empty also updates are not executed even if it has a scheduler entry

no one got such problems???

also i see today that it stoppped and i had restarted clamd


the interesting thing is that "NOTHING" happens clamd.log is completely empty, there is no sign of virus detection, meaning that it is not working...


Are you sure that plesk works with clamAV ? i dont think so, i read posts people saying that its easy as 123 to integrate clamAV , yes it is but did this people check their logs? i dont think that clamAV is working

we had tested this on both PLESK 7.5.2 and 7.5.4 the ourcome is the same ClamAV is not working...

to whom believes that clamAV is integrated please check your clamd.log if you cant see any activity within log this means that clamAV is not working.

well well well

i installed clamAV with no difficulty, restarted system (just in case)

first i disabled the DrWeb monster.

i manually run the clam (under the third party tools)

and its detecting the viruses (and i think removing them too)

as i did it today, i will recheck that in the morning to see if logs are okay, or not

may God have mercy on my server till than.

hmm ok i got it do you also defined runclamscan.exe for somewhere or do you only use runclamd.exe as the service.

Did you test your installation?

from http://www.webmail.us/testvirus just do a test and please let me know.

i have everything installed & fine on the clam side

* Dr.Web is not working
* clamd is running as a service
* freshclam is running properly

clam fails 25 of the tests at http://www.webmail.us/testvirus since it is not running....i am just mad at that crappy plesk and windows versions

how did you get it work? i will be glad if you let me know what steps you did take

but i will verify by the test as well.
