subdomain setup as domain for share ssl

Please allow sub domain type of share ssl, which means when u setup a sub domain as a domain, the share SSL can use that sub domain to map as a share ssl domain. This way, i can save money on purchasing wildcard SSL. This works in old version, but in plesk 9 it is no longer working.
