Issue Sudden High mariadb / mysql memory usage

thinkjarvis

Basic Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian v18.0.65_build1800241106.13
We are suddenly seeing the mariadb usage hit 41% and mysql memory usage spike and stay consistently high at around 60gb out of our 128gb server.

Typically this value should be around 30gb day to day but something is causing the memory useage to spike.

We havent made any particular changes.

If I go into the process list I can see that mariadb is showing 41% usage.

Can anyone provide me with some methods to identify specifically what is causing the high usage?

The problem started back in October - Thes screenshot is 90 days. With no major changes to our hosting or web system this is now the situation. The server crashed yesterday due to running out of mysql workers so I have increased this from 151 default to 450.

That's a helpful article, unless, you're using Plesk with MariaDB 11.4.* which Plesk does support.
Those MariaDB 11.4.* releases (we're on MariaDB 11.4.4 and it's unchanged) are still not yet supported by Plesk's Performance Booster:
