• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Question sw-engine, apache - red, yellow, green

Victor

New Pleskian
I have a problem with the process from plex 12.
At a certain time at night. There is a translation of the Apache 2 status from green to yellow. After 5 minutes in red.
After 5 hours, everything returns to normal. Red status immediately turns green.
Loading goes on process sv-engine.

Please check the access_log of tthe site in question at the time when this occurs. It could be bad bots who are frequenting your site with useless traffic.

Hello Connor,

The email notification you have received is nothing but a detailed report of the processes running during a certain period of time. The server error log isn't indicating any suspicious activity either. Apache service is used by sites running on the server. Multiple apache processes shown in the notification mail are nothing but the apache connections on the server which is normal.

Regarding high memory usage by the apache server, the services running on the server consumes resources, when the traffic on the websites increases the apache service tends to use high resources. This resource consumption is of fluctuating nature. As it is proportional to the request.

Also, we've noticed that, site (as pm'd) is attracting good volume of traffic due to which resources consumed by the apache service is high.

Did I understand you correctly? I don't have to do anything!
