The spamassassin header tags

This is probarly a stupid question but is spamassassin supposed to always leave it's tag in the header of the mails? It's the "X-Spam-Level:/X-Spam-Checker-Version:" I'm thinking of..

Just wondering since alot of the spam that comes through doesn't contain any information from spamassassin at all.. Or does it show only if the hit ratio is higher then 0?

I think it only adds its header after you hit your threshold. so, if you set it to trigger as spam at 5, then any email that scores a 5 and higher gets tagged and spamassassin headers go in for all your rule sets. If below 5 then it only flags your score.
