• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Just out of nothing qmail stopped working right.

When I want to send an email trough webmail I get this error:
There was an error sending your message: Failed to connect to localhost:25 [SMTP: Failed to connect socket: Connection refused (code: -1, response: )]

Restarting qmail does not seem to work.

Who has a solution?
I've not changed anything to the server.

I've rebooted the machine. I can send email trough webmail now, but with outlook it does not work.

When sending a test mail I get (freely translated from Dutch) "The submitted server has been found, but there is no reply from the server received".

Confirm that xinetd is running and binding to port 25:

# /sbin/service xinetd status
xinetd (pid 6181) is running...

Confirm that port 25 is bound by xinetd:

# netstat -tlnp | grep :25
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:25 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 28939/xinetd

If all is well above, could be your firewall on the server or believe it or not your workstation.

I can send email with oulook again, somehow it took some time to start working with outlook.
Although I can send email, it's way slower than before.
