Tips for a CPanel to Plesk switcher?

I really wanna get my head around Plesk but it's so complicated compared to CPanel. So many levels and nooks and crannies in the interface.

What I really want to know is: As an administrator, what's the best way for me to setup packages and then just add new accounts?

I don't really need to add a new "client" for each site do I? I don't use Plesk to manage my billing or anything so Plesk really doesn't need to know or care about my client's phone number and billing address, etc. I just wanna choose my package, type in a domain name and click 'add' -- is there any way to do it this simply?

Also, what's with the "desktop" and "home" options? Should I allow both or just one -- which one? What do you guys do?

Thanks in advance!

hey there!

well, since I have my own client domains but I also have resellers (plesk clients) what I did was create a Plesk Client with the name of my company, where I add all our end-user domains, and then I create a new Plesk Client for each reseller, considering it's domain limit.

If I want to add a new domain, I can login as Administrator or as Client, since my company has a Plesk Client account.

I don't know if that's the best way to do it, but it works for me =)

about the desktop, I don't care much about it, although it can be very useful since you can add some links in there to pages that you know you visit a lot. For example, if you always have to check a domain report, you can access that page and mark as favorite, and a link to it will be displayed on your plesk desktop.

some of my resellers are quite confused with plesk desktop, but others seem to like it... it's up to you

well, that's the way I do!

see ya
