  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Update PLESK 11.5.30 #2 Error

KlyX84

New Pleskian
(as my first thread seems to have problem with the posted log - it just seems empty - and I also wasn't able to upload it with the upload funntionalities, I have to repost it with the log in a File on my server. sorry for that ;))

Hi folks,

I just tried to update my PLESK 11.5.30 to Update #2 through the Panel itself.
During the installation I got the following error:

error: Zend_Db_Adapter_Exception: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] No such file or directory "Abstract.php:144" plesk update

Since then, I have no chance ot access PLESK through. Apache, PHP, MySQL are still running, as well as all my websites.

Addendum: it seems, that the system does not forward mydomain.com:8443 to https://mydomain.com:8443 - so I was able to access PLESK now, but still not able to update.
Here the PLESK Error-Log:

abacado.net/plesk_update_error.txt

What could be the problem and how can I solve it?

Thanks a lot in advance.
Greeting from Switzerland,
Chris

Did you read the log?

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

Also: why people assume HTTP should be accepted on 8443 port? Just use 8880 if you want HTTP.

Hi Nikolay

Thanks for your reply.
First: yes I did, but as this exact reply comes up several times in the log, I'm not sure if it's somehow only generic and I don't wanna mess up anything ;). That's why I asked in the first place. But I'll try that then.

About HTTP and HTTPS: I don't assume that, but funny enough - maybe it's just my browser - url.com:8443 always forwards to the right site. And I'm quite sure it is not a browser problem as it happened first, after the update in PLESK failed an I tried to click on the "start/home" link in PLESK. That's where I was a bit confused.
However, I'm gonna try "dpkg --configure -a" and report back

The more interesting part here is: who or what interrupted dpkg? You didn't interrupt previous installations or upgrades, did you?

No, not as far as I know. What I did after the update failed the first time (see first post with first error message), I did a complete reboot and tried it again. The posted log was directly after that.
Maybe it had to do with the first error?

What I did now:
- dpkg --configure -a as mentioned --> went through without a problem
- rebooted the system
- logged into PLESK. Now (not before) it told me something went wrong and if I want to repair --> I let PLESK repair itself succesfully
- now I rebooted again (just to be sure) and tried the install again (during the update panel not on the PLESK front-page) and this time it told me, that everything went well.

So... no idea why it worked now and not before ;)
