Resolved Update Plesk via CLI

klowet

Basic Pleskian
Server operating system version
Debian 12
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.57 Update 2
Hi

I want to control and update Plesk via the CLI. Some questions:
  1. What is the difference between plesk installer update and plesk installer upgrade ?
  2. How can I run an upgrade from eg 18.0.57 Update 1 to 18.0.57 Update 2?
  3. How can I upgrade the extensions via CLI?
Thanks

1) The plesk installer upgrade command allows an update to a specific major release, but the release must be entered as a parameter. The plesk installer update updates to the latest release.

2) A manual update from one "micro-update" to an exactly specific other "micro-update" is not possible. It is possible to update to a specific major version, but for the micro-update, the plesk installer update command will automatically update to the latest micro-update.

3) plesk bin extension --upgrade <name of extension>, for example plesk bin extension --upgrade git
If extension names are not known, you can see a list with plesk bin extension --list
