Hello world.
I want to do an update to my server, using yum.
I do not want to break plesk, then post the result of yum check-update.
Which of these updates I can install without problems?
My server: VPS Centos 5.5 (final) with Virtuozzo and Plesk 9.2.1
Thanks for the help.
yum check-update

You can safely update all those pages on centos 5.5 and Plesk 9.2.1

You made me a nice Christmas gift.
I just upgraded and everything seems to work fine.

Thank you so much

I've been wondering myself lately - is it generally ok to use yum update to update all packages? Are there any that we should avoid updating that break plesk?

I have an older server running Plesk 9.5.2 which I regularly update Plesk through the control panel, but I haven't run yum update in a while for fear of breaking something.

I browsed around a little looking to see what others do, but it seems like sometimes people run yum update and then cannot SSH and have trouble (someone mentioned they could only SSH using virtuozzo or something) - I have Plesk through a hosted provider on a virtual dedicated machine. While I have SSH access and control over it, I don't believe I have virtuozzo or anything like that to save me should it break and I no longer have SSH access....

So, I worry. Do most people run yum update without any issues?

"Do most people run yum update without any issues?"

They should. If you haven't updated in over a year, you've got a server full of known vulnerabilities. We update weekly, or more often if critical updates are released.
