Upgraded to 8.1 successfully on FC4. How do I get mysql 5.0?
There are some posts on the forum that you don't need to do install mysql5.0 as plesk 8.1 will do for you. So how do I enable it or upgrade existing databases to 5.0?

Plesk just uses whatever version of MySQL comes with your distribution (same goes for Apache, PHP and others). If you want a newer version you'll have to find precreated packages or create them yourself.

Similar question, what about clean installation

I have similar questions about this issue in that I would like to use MySQL version 5 on:

1. A new server.
2. An existing server.

1. For a new server, if I install a generic version of FC4 (without LAMP) will Plesk automatically download and install MySQL 5?

2. For an existing (FC4) server, will my desire to get MySQL 5 mean I have to upgrade MySQL (and all it's dependencies, integration with Apache, etc.). This sounds nightmarish - what about Plesk, will Plesk still function if I go this dark route? Will I break old applications?
