urgent: python causing server to stop functioning.

while trying to upgrade a few components, it seems that I have caused Python to somehow get dependancy problems, and now I'm stuck not sure what to do.

Server is now down and can't figure out what to do.

I tried running the autoinstall script for plesk in hopes that would solve the problem, and get this error:

 python
 python-central
 python-newt

 libapache2-mod-python
 python-libxml2

I remember getting errors about Python not being configured yet - altho now I don't remember how I was getting those errors, but I read that I should do the following:

dpkg --configure python

and I get the following errors:

Setting up python (2.4.4-2) ...
running python rtupdate hooks for python2.4...
python or pycentral not found in pycentral.rtupdate hook.
error running python rtupdate hook pycentral
/usr/share/python/runtime.d/python-support.rtupdate: /usr/sbin/update-python-modules: /usr/bin/python: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

please help! any info will be greatly appreciated!

nevermind

I don't see a way to delete this message...

but please ignore it, I ended installing a new drive, installed a fresh version of the OS and Plesk and restored everything to that.
