value in qmail @mbox.quota truncated at 2 GB

fran@

Basic Pleskian
value in qmail @mbox.quota truncated at 2097151 (2 GB quota)

I'm experiencing a weird problem with qmail quotas:

It started with an account with 2.4 GB of data in it, and we wanted to raise the quota:
Any quota value but "unlimited" makes the mail for this account bounce.
<[email protected]>:
Recipient's mailbox is full, message returned to sender. (#5.2.2)

I experimented a little and it looks like the qmail data does not "always"match the PSA database/CP data:
I created a new mailbox "[email protected]"

reset quota in CP to 2000000
/var/qmail/mailnames/newdomain.com/new/@mbox.quota = 2000000

reset quota in CP to 3000000
/var/qmail/mailnames/newdomain.com/new/@mbox.quota = 2097151 ???? 2 GB ???

Changed the quota in CP to 8388608 (8GB)
psa db value: 8589934592
/var/qmail/mailnames/newdomain.com/new/@mbox.quota = 2097151 ???? 2 GB ???

Note that the values held in the PSA database and shown in the Plesk control panel are correct.
Only the @mbox.quota value is truncated at 2097151
(max value for an interger in some languages??)

Has anyone encountered this problem?

Server is a Centos4 VPS running on OpenVZ kernel 2.6.9-023stab043.2-enterprise,
Plesk 8.2.1

can't set mailbox quota higher than 2GB in Plesk

I tried on various versions of Plesk:
8.3, 8.2.1, 8.1.1.
they all have the same bug:

whenever you set up a value > 2Gb in Plesk for the mailbox quota,
the qmail @mbox.quota is set to 2097151

It works fine for values < 2GB
(and yes, we have but a few mail users who WANT a 5 GB mailbox.

This problem still exists in Plesk 8.6.0

Hello,

Today we upgraded a server from 8.3 to 8.6.0 and experienced this same problem, with mailbox quotas being truncated to ~2Gigs. All mail was rejected with a quota message, even though the maillbox in question was set to 5 Gigs. We've set them to Unlimited for the time being, but would prefer to have a real fix in place before upgrading a number of other servers to 8.6.0.

Thanks for your assistance.
