• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

VPS Backups simple question

In my plesk installation I am allowed 10G of space for VPS backups wheras my total VPS space has a limit of 30G - this means that I wont have enough space to be able to keep even one single backup - am i missing something or does this sound strange - what do other people do ? ( in my naivity i assumed i had enough space for several - the number of backups is strangely limited to 6 but obviously i cant even fit one so ??? )

any suggestions

Remember that there can be around a 2:1 compression during the backup process, you could fit maybe 20Gb of data into a 10Gb backup archive.

Is that 10Gb in addition to your 30Gb or is it part of it? If it is part of it then it kind of makes sense. 20Gb of data compressed into 10Gb of backup, which together makes 30Gb.

It seems like an annoying limit though. At least you get 6 backups, which is more than some would allow.

Faris.

well it doesnt seem to be compressing it as it is - the size of the backup is the same size as the combined site sizes

what i'd really like to know is whether this is normal or not - this hosting is not particularly cheap so im a bit miffed that i dont have space for proper backups - would you think it it ?? ( typical )
