Watchdog configuration error

I'm having trouble starting watchdog in Plesk.

I entered my email as the "Default recipient's e-mail" but made no other changes to the preferences.

When I click "Enable" a pop-up error message displays "Configuration file check failed: watchdog failed: Run syntax check for the control file failed. Please contact SWsoft, Inc....."

The only thing special I've done onthis server is upgrade to the latest MySQL.

Anyone know how to run the syntax checker manually or how to find out what is broken in the configuration?

I have the same problem and no help.

the latest update 8/24 lets watchdog start.

I have to install this stuff by hand now though.

Download the latest rpm:

wget http://autoinstall.plesk.com//PSA_7...atchdog-1.0.0-rhel3.build75050926.17.i586.rpm

and do an
rpm -Uh psa-watchdog-1.0.0-rhel3.build75050926.17.i586.rpm

I upgraded the watchdog, restarted PSA, but the error message still comes up. Any ideas?

not sure why you would still be getting the error.

However, I had to turn watchdog off completely. It has some serious issues. It would stop services and not restart them even when there is no problem. Search around there are lots of reports of this situation. I'd actually consider myself lucky if you couldn't install it at this point.

Very disappointed that they would release something so buggy.

Cost me a weekend of downtime.

I haven't gotten around to checking any alternatives out yet. Please post if you find one that works.
