Resolved Watchdog (System Monitoring) is missing

I check for Watchdog (System Monitoring) as it says is the doc:
Scanning Server for Malware
But I cant find it.
My plesk Version 17.5.3.

How can I enable it?

"watchdog" is a Plesk component, which can be installed over the Plesk Control Panel ( => HOME > Updates and Upgrades > Add/Remove Components ):

... or you are able to install it over the command ( logged in as user "root" over SSH ):

plesk installer --select-product-id plesk --select-release-current --install-component watchdog

Then I tried the second solution.
I run
"plesk installer --select-product-id plesk --select-release-current --install-component watchdog"

I get:

BUSY: Update operation was locked by another update process.
exit status 1

I have googled and got this solution:

I run:
# ps auxffww | grep autoinstaller

get:
root 18120 0.0 0.0 112648 964 pts/0 S+ 00:03 0:00 | \_ grep --color=auto autoinstaller
[root@****** ~]# strace -p $18120
strace: attach: ptrace(PTRACE_ATTACH, ...): No such process

Hi gadalf,

as you can see within YOUR image from your Plesk Control Panel, there is a "+" - sign in front of several menu items. If you click on such a "+" - sign, you will open the submenu of this menu item.

This is YOUR current used command, to list possible processes => "ps auxffww | grep autoinstaller"

I get:

BUSY: Update operation was locked by another update process.
exit status 1

This is absolute normal to see, if you didn't close your "webinstaller" - instance and you moved directly to your shell, in order to use a "plesk installer" - command. Only ONE "installer" - process is allowed and "webinstaller" - sessions are only automatically closed after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Well It is very very wired Plesk lads
Couple of weeks a go I was installing PKLESK and I was actually able to install Watchdog
Now it is gone again (Screen Attached)

I did try to use the direct component installation : plesk installer --select-product-id plesk --select-release-current --install-component watchdog
and di not work too:

Watchdog is only available in Plesk for Linux, and is not available on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, AlmaLinux 9, Debian 11, and Ubuntu 20.04 and later.

Watchdog is no longer available for the recent Linux distributions that Peter listed. It is still available for the older Linux versions.
If you need an auto restart function, have a look at this page:

On Linux distributions that use the systemd init system (Debian 8 and later, CentOS/RedHat 7 and later, and Ubuntu 18 and later), Plesk instructs systemd to restart certain services if they crash.

Or install Monit yourself, which is the component that Watchdog is based on.

Hello Ubuntu 22.04 does not support the Watchdog package from Plesk. Is there an alternive available that monitors services and can restart them?? Thank you Henk
